We operate three US-based manufacturing plants and one pilot plant for small-scale process development that replicates plant-scale production.
Processes:
Chemstar uses starch conversion processing that incorporates four distinct manufacturing processes and a variety of additional proprietary processes. In addition, we have an R&D laboratory and pilot plant that includes an applications lab and specializes in customer service applications.
Products:
We produce a variety of starch-based materials that include modified, pre-gel and water-soluble polymers such as hydroxypropyl, carboxymethyl, cationic and crosslinked starches for industrial use. Also, we are well known for developing private-label products for specific customer applications.
Customers:
Chemstar serves many industrial customers outside of "regulated industries" such as food, pharmaceutical, personal care, etc. This target market approach allows us to use manufacturing techniques that produce valuable products for our customers in the oilfield drilling fluid, adhesive, joint compound, wall and ceiling texture, environmental and mining industries.
